Dear friends,
We are back from the USA after a successful visit to Las Vegas SCI as well as the Northwest Chapter Banquette in Seattle. We also attended some house parties with our friends the Dails in Seattle and the Toenshoff’s in Fairfax - DC area which were well attended and resulted in late nights and little sleep! It was great to meet new people and to see old friends again during our visit.
I want to use this opportunity to thank each and every person that supported us during this trip as well as through the years. These friendships last forever, and it means a lot when so many of our old friends and clients go to the trouble to come around the booth to catch up with a firm handshake or a warm hug. This is what makes all of us as hunters and men of the outdoors a special breed, we think the same – no matter where you come from or live!
And we always really hope to hunt with you again in the near future.
Our 2017 Hunting Season Forecast
Enjoy!
Yours Sincerely
Edmond Rouillard (outfitter)

2. Upgrades At Our Camps
Because of the drought animals were destroying the lawn at the main camp and we now managed to plant new grass at the camp and the lawn is getting there slowly. A Small electric fence was built around the camp to prevent animals from getting to the lawn. This seems to help a lot.
3. The future of lion and leopard hunting
There is word that Namibia’s Fish and Wildlife are going to close Leopard hunting this year. The hunters that already have their permits will be allowed to continue with their hunts but no new permits will be issued. Further information will follow as this could only be a rumour.

Please note some species are more expensive e.g. Nyala which makes the package pricier. It's important to compare apples when looking at a package, and not the amount or number of animals included! Nyala generally sell for $2300 each and up, so for one Nyala up to 6 "cheaper" species can be added to make it look good.
If the ears are just as wide as the horns the buffalo will be in the region of 35 -36 inches. This is only a guideline it may differ because of body size.
Buffalo are very dangerous when wounded. They will seldom charge when hunted and will rather try to run away. In some circumstances they might stand ambush especially after they have been pushed for a long time.
Always remember it is the first shot that counts and make very sure that you put the bullet in the right spot. Give at least 10 minutes before following up on your shot and wait for the death bellow. I have found that in some rare cases buffalos does not bellow when dying. When following up do it slowly and stay on the track. Make sure that you have a life round in the chamber and that your rifle is on safety. Use all your senses while follow up (Hearing, smell and eyes) this might save a life one day. If the buffalo is spotted standing or laying down try to put another good shot into him even if you think he is dead and make sure it is safe to take the shot. Remember it is the dead ones that kill you! Make sure that you look for a reaction from the buffalo after the shot, if there was no reaction you can assume it is dead. If there was a reaction give him another shot. This is just for insurance. After such an insurance shot go closer slowly from behind and pinch him on the hind leg with your rifle barrel to look for a reaction again. If no reaction was spotted you can unload and enjoy the moment!
