Newsletter by Niel Uys (Manager) and Edmond Rouillard (outfitter):
Dear friends,
We are back from the USA after a successful visit to Las Vegas SCI as well as the Northwest Chapter Banquette in Seattle. We also attended some house parties with our friends the Dails in Seattle and the Toenshoff’s in Fairfax - DC area which were well attended and resulted in late nights and little sleep! It was great to meet new people and to see old friends again during our visit.
I want to use this opportunity to thank each and every person that supported us during this trip as well as through the years. These friendships last forever, and it means a lot when so many of our old friends and clients go to the trouble to come around the booth to catch up with a firm handshake or a warm hug. This is what makes all of us as hunters and men of the outdoors a special breed, we think the same – no matter where you come from or live!
And we always really hope to hunt with you again in the near future.

1. Our 2017 Hunting Season Forecast
This year will kick off early and our first hunters will arrive in March. As you all know about our terrible drought (worst in 108 years) we are hoping that more rain is on its way. As I am busy typing this newsletter it started raining and hopefully it will be enough to pull us through the coming season for this could be our last rain for the next 6 months.
So far quite a few of our well priced buff and sable hunts, two rhino hunts for later in the year and a fair amount of plains game hunts have been sold for which we are happy and grateful.
Although we are satisfied about the bookings we have for 2017 there are still a few openings in July, August and September. If you are considering coming to hunt with us this year please make contact with me or Edmond to prevent disappointment.
We are going to try our utmost best to get a newsletter out every month and will post some pictures of the hunts each month.
2. Upgrades At Our Camps
Because of the drought animals were destroying the lawn at the main camp and we now managed to plant new grass at the camp and the lawn is getting there slowly. A Small electric fence was built around the camp to prevent animals from getting to the lawn. This seems to help a lot.
We are busy installing Wi-Fi at the main camp which will be a huge bonus for our clients.
3. The future of lion and leopard hunting
There is word that Namibia’s Fish and Wildlife are going to close Leopard hunting this year. The hunters that already have their permits will be allowed to continue with their hunts but no new permits will be issued. Further information will follow as this could only be a rumour.
4. Latest State of Poaching on Harloo:
Since our latest incident with poachers where we had very good success in confiscating a shotgun, knifes and axes, it seems that the word has spread and it has been quit ever since. There is absolutely no signs of any trespassers on Harloo since then.
